THE STORY
We were selected to produce these short documentary films for the Idaho Commission on the Arts.
Part of a series on traditional arts apprenticeships, the audio was recorded and produced as radio segments by Arlie Sommer for Boise State Public Radio.
Duck Decoys
Master carver Tom Matus and apprentice Justin Seelig share the art of carving and painting duck decoys. A presentation of the Idaho Commission on the Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Leatherwork
Master leatherworker Ryan Carpenter and apprentice Monte Cummins share their story of working the land, learning craft, and being neighbors on the Duck Valley Reservation. A presentation of the Idaho Commission on the Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
